One of the main reasons we wanted to create Composition Sourcebook was to (1) start a pedagogical resource archive for our colleagues at the University of Kansas, and (2) encourage others from different universities to share their own material. We believe that productive in-class activities start with good teaching materials. On this page, you'll find materials -- in-class activities and unit projects -- as subheadings. These subheadings should guide you to a specific direction. We're also providing a brief rationale of outcomes / goals that the activity or assignment is designed to accomplish which should help you narrow down your pedagogical resource search. But, feel free to explore the various types of activities and assignments offered.
Note: We also feel it's necessary to make the disclaimer that there is a great deal of overlap regarding these activities' classifications; so we thought it best to categorize them based on the assignment's main rhetorical/pedagogical focus. Please let us know if you have any concerns about our organization via our emails or this site's forum.

Below are our teaching projects (our midterm). These were meant to combine our own teaching interests with pedagogical scholarship. We tried to think about how these projects could work at our institution -- the University of Kansas. But, we believe, with some adjustments, they could benefit your classroom as well. Feel free to click the button (below). You can access them there too!

We would love for you to share your own pedagogical materials. In fact, we created space for you to do that! Please click on the Forum button (right); there's a forum titled "Pedagogical practices." Feel free to upload / attach / or describe some teaching materials you use in class.
